Rosten has provided an espionage entertainment with silky dialogue and, if some literal-minded lout should point out that there are essential plot points left smoked over, tell him that such has always been the case in this genre. The hero is Peter Galton, Princetonian gentleman, bachelor, contemporary Pimpernel. He's cool and virile without the suspicion, as there is with Bond and Co., that he can impregnate virgins with a glance. Galton's bent on saving a damsel that he left in Soviet distress nearly six years ago. Fatly greedy Mr. Sulenkian is prepared to smuggle her out sandwiched between two top scientists and his price is as fabulous as the Istanbul setting.
