I met Emin Basaranbilek during the time we lived in Birgi in 2013, while doing surface research together with ouı team on the ancient city of Hypaipa. It was a man of wisdom that I became acquainted with, one who had made himself at home in the impressive historical atmosphere that characterized Birgi. It had to be wisdom that guided him as he made his way through the thousands of years, living in the streets and the houses that had assimilated the essence of ancient civilizations.
