The generative thinking postulates that elements are not always interpreted in the positions where they merge into the derivation. They sometimes move to different nodes for checking purposes. The displaced syntactic items or their operators are subject to certain locality conditions which have been target of analyses since the early years of the generative approach. The present book aims to make an overall introduction to the locality conditions on syntactic displacement focusing mainly on Turkish.
