Açıklama
Paul Cézanne is now accepted as a father of modern painting, a recognition that eluded him most of his lifetime. Maria Teresa Benedetti's book describes Cézanne's life and works in fascinating detail. Divided into two sections, part one chronicles the artist's life. Cézanne was born in Aix-en-Provence in 1839, where Émile Zola was his boyhood friend. Both boys developed a strong interest in the arts and when he was 23, Cézanne left Aix to study art in Paris. Introduced by Camille Pissarro to the new Impressionist technique, Cézanne joined the circle of Renoir, Monet, Sisley and Pisarroa friendship that led to his inclusion in Impressionist exhibitions in 1874 and 1877. Criticized harshly by a public unimpressed by Impressionism. Cézanne drifted back to Aix, where he divorced himself from the Impressionist movement and followed his own quest for new models of expression.
