On 20 February 2009, Alex Med organized the book launch of Mohamed Awads Italy in Alexandria: Influences on the Built Environment published by the Alexandria Preservation Trust. The fruit of many years research, this book retraces the role played by Italian architects in the city, from the Classical era, through the different epochs and up to the present day. During the book launch, Dr. Awad gave a talk on important features of Alexandrias built environment, focusing on the various architectural styles and trends which were introduced or adopted by the Italians.
