He was born 1950 in Tarsus. In 1968 he absolved the college for teachers in Mersin. For 6 years he worked on different schools as primary school teacher. During his time on the college he started to paint and finished his studies at the institute for painting of the Istanbul Academy in 1978. As teacher for art he works in various schools throughout Turkey, in 1987 he bides farewell to teaching and starts to serve as the Director for Culture of the Municipality of Tarsus.
He began historical research about Tarsus and to publish his results. His main publications are “The unknown Tarsus”, “Atatürk in Tarsus”, “The History of Tarsus” and “The History of the Municipality of Tarsus”.
He still did not abstain from painting and opened his first personal exhibition in 1981. Up to date he had 25 personal exhibitions, 7 of them abroad. His works are part of various national and international private and state collections. He calls his self developed painting technique “Modern Mosaic
