The Snark is to be sailed. The rig of the Snark is to be what is called Ththe ldquo;ketch.rdquo; The ketch rig is a compromise between the yawl and the schooner. Of late years the yawl rig Thhas proved the best for cruising. The ketch retains the cruising virtues of the yawl, and in addition manages to embrace a few of the sailing virtues of the schooner. ThThe foregoing must be taken with a pinch of salt. It is all theory in my head. Ive never sailed a ketch, nor Theven seen one. The theory commends itself to me. Wait till I get out on the ocean, then Ill be able to tell more about the cruising and sailing qualities of the ketch
