The Eastern Question shows the systematical effort of the Western States to gain dominance over the Ottoman lands, and to split it. When we reviewed the progress of events in Ottoman Lands, we see that especially three events -Armenian, Crete and Macedonia uprisings- in 19 century gave the impression of a declining Ottoman State to the Western States. When we analyze these events retrospectively in the light of contemporary knowledge, we can easily see that these three events were very closely related to each other both in timing and characteristics.
