The present volume, The Freshening Breeze, is a collection of poems mostly written between 1975 and 1977 expressing the author’s keen feelings about the consequential events of those years in China and his joy at the continuing forward march of the Chinese revolution to new victories after the smashing of the “gang of four.”
We are happy to present this collection of Rewi Alley’s more recent poems as a tribute to him on his eightieth birthday.
